Mamie

In French Mamie means “granny”. But I didn’t know that when I took this photo in my neighborhood and thought of my “mommy”.

I’m about a four minute walk to the Le cimetière du Montparnasse. So, many businesses around there have to do with death.

I took this photo in the window of a shop exclusively for urns and ceramic items for the gravesite or home. Because in CA we don’t see this type of store, I don’t even have a name for it. Death accoutrements?

The ceramic plaque really reminded my of my mom because both my mom and my grandfather love(d) hydrangeas.

I know from going to the UK (with Stef in 2024) that the hydrangea is a popular cottage garden flower.

At home we have one in our garden that is over 50 years old!

Merci mamie for all the flowers!!!!
